AMANDA BJÖRK
Amanda Björk works with painting in the expanded field, which includes a great focus on textile dyeing and natural dyes. Her works are often site-specific, they either relate to or adapt after their given environment, such as architectural elements or daylight.
Her artistic practice is settled in a garden. She dyes and paints with plants she sows and harvests. The garden has, aside from its gardener, a willpower of its own. A sprout is transformed into a flower which later wither, it sheds its seeds and will in time become flowers and bloom. Through the cycle of flowers, we witness eternity. Björk holds an MFA from Konstfack, Stockholm.
